Canton, NC: A death investigation continues after a man’s body was pulled from the Pigeon River in the Bethel community Sunday afternoon. Around 2:40pm a body was discovered and a call placed to the Haywood County Emergency Operations Center. Haywood County Deputies, EMS, firefighters, and the medical examiner responded to the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Robert Perry Kelly, age 40, of Clyde, NC. Foul play is not suspected nor is there a threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing pending the autopsy report.
