Haywood County Deputies Continue Drug Crackdown

Haywood County, NC: Within 24 hours, Haywood County Sheriff’s Deputies seized over a pound of illegal drugs resulting in four arrests and multiple trafficking charges.

Deputies conducted three separate vehicle stops on December 22nd in Waynesville, Canton, and Clyde and seized 573.4 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl. One vehicle stop, in particular, was a joint effort with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. Captain Tony Cope stated, “It is important that we continue to collaborate with our community and other law enforcement agencies in the war on drugs. This kind of collaboration will help us disrupt and dismantle the organizations that are delivering this poison to our community, which will ultimately save lives.”

During this around-the-clock operation, the efforts of Haywood County deputies reflect their strong commitment to making Haywood County safer. “We encourage the public to continue to partner with us in combating the ongoing drug problems plaguing our county. We welcome all information, so if you see something, please say something as we work together to better our county,” said Chief Deputy Jeff Haynes.
