Three new school board members will be sworn in at the June 28 Jackson Board of Education meeting.
Kim Moore won election in District 4, garnering more than 40 percent of the vote. Newcomer Lisa Buchanan will be seated in the District 2 post. And, in District 5 Lynn Dillard won the seat. The terms for District 1 and District 3 seats expire in 2024.
Meanwhile, The Jackson County Board of Education will elect a chairperson and a vice-chair to serve for a term of two years or until their successor is elected and qualified by taking the oath of office. An organizational meeting for the election and qualification of officers will be held at the regularly scheduled July 26 meeting.
