The North Carolina Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service, a division of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, will provide information on a grant opportunity to establish recycling sites at multifamily dwellings such as apartment building complexes. The meeting will be held in the Skyland Services Center at 678 Skyland Drive, Sylva, at 12 pm on July 27, 2022. Anyone who owns or manages an apartment complex in Jackson County is welcome to attend. The presentation will discuss grant funding available for multifamily property managers/owners, haulers, local governments, different models for providing recycling at multifamily properties, and best practices in education and outreach. Mobile home parks may be included in this opportunity, as well; NC state personnel are finalizing this portion.
